“Keep Up the Good Work!” • 3rd John – Elder Bryce Lowrance. In a personal letter to a young man named Gaius, the Apostle John expresses his love and thankfulness for him in the truth. John is thankful for the support of the ministry that Gaius has done so far. He encourages him to continue being a fellow helper to the truth while ignoring those that were Diotrephes, who only wanted to have his way and had no regard for Apostolic authority. John points to Demetrius, who seems to be an older disciple doing the same work as Gaius, as an example to follow. He closes the letter with an important reminder that face to face fellowship is the key to truly understanding and living the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Part 1 focuses on verse 1 through 8.
