Today’s message charges us to put ourselves to work for the Lord. Each one of God’s people is called individually by the irresistible grace of God in the new birth. However, even though we called as individuals, our job as born again children of God is to live and work together in harmony. This sometimes may be a struggle but it is those times of difficulty, when we show mercy to one another, that we are truly sharing the mercy and love of God that He has toward each of us.

Today’s episode concludes the message “Walk Worthy” which was preached from Ephesians 4:1-3. In this message, we discover that our truth worth is discovered when we walk like Christ in our endeavors with our fellow man and in particular fellow church members.

Having concluded his presentation of the glory of the local church in chapter 3, the Apostle Paul now turns to our calling as born again children of God as active members of a church. In this message, we will see that our true value is only in Jesus Christ. And we only discover the true depth of that worth when we live like Christ for the benefit and blessing of others.

Having shown that the Apostle Paul declared the promise of the opening of the gospel to the Gentiles is fulfilled in the church, Elder Bryce shows how we should react in devotion to our local church with joy and thankfulness.

Along with the prophecy of the coming of the Messiah, the Old Testament contains several promises to a time of the light of knowledge of God coming to the Gentiles. Ephesians chapter 3 teaches us that the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ is a fulfillment of that long anticipated revelation.

In the midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic, political unrest brought tension and riot to the streets of America. Hatred, racism, and violence filled the streets and the media. In response to all the rhetoric, Elder Bryce turns to scripture to show that all the horrible things occurring in the world are nothing new. All the things we see are the symptoms of a much larger problem – sin. Jesus Christ broke down the wall between God and His children. At the same time, He broke down the walls between men. The answer to any tension we have is not found in politics. The answer is the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

When people discover that we believe in salvation by grace plus nothing they begin to draw some correct conclusions. If God has saved us completely in Christ Jesus, then we do not go to church to get saved eternally. If God has preserved us in Christ Jesus, then we do not go to church to maintain our own salvation. So, why then do we go to church? As we will learn in today’s message. There are two fundamental reasons we worship God publicly in church. Number one  – He told us to! That ought be enough but we have another reason. Since God has been so good to us we ought to come before Him with praise and thanksgiving.
